In August, we communicated a new program providing up to 160 hours of COVID-19 Paid Administrative Leave to employees who exhaust leave eligibility under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), exhaust their own accrued personal leave balances, and:
- Are subject to a local quarantine or isolation order;
- Have been advised by a healthcare provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID-19; or
- Are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and seeking a medical diagnosis.
The purpose of this program is to encourage employees to self-report and remain away from the workplace in the event of a suspected COVID-19 exposure without risk of financial harm.
On October 8, the program was amended to allow employees to access up to 80 of the 160 hours of COVID-19 Paid Administrative Leave before exhausting their accrued personal leave balances. All other eligibility criteria remain, including the requirement to exhaust leave eligibility under the FFCRA. However, employees may now access half of this paid leave while conserving their own personal leave balances.
If you meet the stated criteria, you may access this paid leave by completing the request form found here. Once approved for COVID-19 Paid Administrative Leave, you will be instructed to record the paid leave on your payroll timesheet or leave report using the code ELP. Please note that this leave code is exclusively for approved use of this particular paid leave.
If you are experiencing any of the applicable circumstances above and have not yet exhausted leave under the FFCRA, you can apply for that leave here.
