Diversity and Inclusion Workshops

The Multi-Generational Workplace

Baby Boomers, and Gen X'ers, and Millennials, oh my!

Today's workforce employs workers between the ages of 18 to 80. There are many differences that span those 62 years, and learning to work with and meet the needs of all of them can be challenging. Each generation has different expectations, preferences, and attitudes. Learn how to make the most of employees of ALL ages to create a multi-generational workplace.

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Learn about the needs and preferences of our current generation
  • Explore how these generations interact
  • Understand how to create a work environment that maximizes the strengths and desires of employees of all ages

Becoming Inclusive, Developing Excellence

The term “Inclusive Excellence” is popping up all across campus. From the Chief Diversity Officer, to the Student Affairs Statement on Diversity and Inclusive Excellence, from Athletics to HR, it can often seem that language changes faster than we can keep up with! Have you heard the term Inclusive Excellence but feel uncertain as to what it means and how it’s relevant to you and your role at ASU? Do you ever feel lost when hearing words such as privilege and oppression? Then this workshop is for you! In this two-part series, we will explore the basics of Inclusive Excellence, its relevance to students, staff, and faculty at ASU, and the importance of Inclusive Excellence on our campus.
