Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field (completion by December 2019).

Additional Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required) We strongly encourage applications with expertise in areas related to Optical Communications and Data Center Wireless Networks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate computer science courses, particularly in the area of Computer Networks, mentoring undergraduate and graduate research, maintaining an active program of scholarship, pursuing external funding, and participating in service activities.

Description of the Department or Unit The Department of Computer Science at Appalachian State University has 14 full-time faculty members with interests that range from core areas to interdisciplinary collaborations. Approximately 25 students are enrolled in the Master of Science program with concentrations in Systems, Theory, Data Science, and Web & Mobile Programming. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET and serves about 500 students.
