Assistant Professor - Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science at Appalachian State University invites applications for a new tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2018. A Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field is required (completion by August 2018).

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate computer science courses, mentoring undergraduate and graduate research, maintaining an active program of scholarship, pursuing external funding, and participating in service activities.

We encourage applications from all areas of computer science. The department wishes to increase its expertise in core areas of computer science and its potential for interdisciplinary collaboration. Areas of particular interest include Computer Security, Software Engineering, Computer Networking, Web and Mobile Device Programming, and Data Science.

The Department of Computer Science at Appalachian State University has 13 full-time faculty members. Approximately 25 students are enrolled in the Master of Science program. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET and serves about 500 students.
