Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Fundamentals (EEODF)

Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Fundamentals (EEODF)

As a supervisor at Appalachian State University, you play a critical role in creating and maintaining a safe, equitable, and inclusive work environment for our employees. Part of this role involves upholding Equal Employment Opportunity laws and our University’s commitment to inclusion. In order to ensure that you have the tools you need to fulfill this role, we will be implementing the Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Fundamentals (EEODF) training created by the NC Office of State Human Resources (OSHR). EEODF is a mandatory training for all managers and supervisors with North Carolina state agencies and UNC system institutions per G.S. 126-16.1. This training provides a thorough background in EEO law as well as thought-provoking situations to assess and improve your cultural competence in the workplace.

OSHR has recently updated the training to a blended, virtual or in-person format. You begin by completing six online modules and once you have completed those, you can sign up for any of the classroom sessions offered by OSHR. You are encouraged to complete the course within one year.

How do I complete EEODF training?

STEP ONE: Register for the EEODF curriculum. Registration for online training and classroom session is through the Office of State Human Resources Learning Center. Here is a quick reference guide to help you get started.
