Our university winter break closure this year will begin on Thursday, December 23 and campus will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022. The closure period includes two weekdays that are not covered by state holidays and require staff to apply personal leave (Wednesday, December 29 and Thursday, December 30). As in past years, in lieu of applying accrued personal leave for these two days, staff may:
- Utilize Community Service Leave by volunteering in the community. The University’s Office of Community-Engaged Leadership, within the Student Affairs Division, maintains a list of community partners with volunteer opportunities.
- Telework, if productive work that can be performed remotely is available and with supervisor approval. Teleworking on these days does not require approval beyond the immediate supervisor but the supervisor is responsible to ensure that agreed-upon work is completed.
