Tobacco Attestation Reminder

Please remind your employees that they have until November 30, 2020, to visit their Primary Care Provider or a CVS MinuteClinic to complete a tobacco cessation counseling session in order to earn their premium credit for 2021.

It’s also important for employees to visit the Plan’s website and print off instructions for their provider to ensure their tobacco attestation counseling session is FREE and is billed correctly. (If a member combines the tobacco cessation visit with another service, there may be a copay.) This document is not required for the visit, it’s simply a suggestion to ensure the visit is billed correctly.

This action is ONLY for tobacco users who want to reduce their monthly premium by $60 per month in 2021. If an employee is NOT a tobacco user, they will simply need to attest to that during the online Open Enrollment process.

New Hire Reminder

Please remind your recent enrollees that they will also need to complete Open Enrollment for their 2021 benefits.

State Health Plan Extends COVID-19 Cost Waivers Through End of Year

The State Health Plan recently announced that the Plan is extending the cost waiver for COVID-19 testing and treatment for members diagnosed with COVID-19, including associated deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance, until the end of the year. This marks the Plan’s third extension of cost waivers for COVID-19 testing and treatment.

For Plan members on the 80/20 Plan, 70/30 Plan and High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), the cost-share waiver for COVID-19 related office visits, testing and treatment has been extended to December 31, 2020, at which time it will be re-evaluated by the Plan and Blue Cross NC.
