The Appalachian Marketplace is a one-stop shop for supporting our employees and local businesses. It includes both a digital Employee Buy/Sell/Trade Program and an Employee Discount Program. Employees post homes for rent or sale and list other items for sale, trade or free—vehicles, campers, outdoor sports equipment, household goods and more. Discounts or incentives are offered by local businesses with the presentation of a valid AppState ID.
Employee Discount Program
We like to think this program is a bridge between campus and the larger community; a benefit for both our employees and our local businesses. Businesses listed here provide Appalachian students, faculty, and staff a discount upon presentation of an AppState ID.

Please note: at this time we are only enrolling LOCAL businesses, that is businesses that have a physical presence in the High Country. Businesses that operate solely online or are outside of our area are not currently eligible to participate in the employee discount program.

Employee Buy/Sell/Trade listings are limited to current or retired Appalachian faculty, staff or graduate students. Postings are not accepted on behalf of friends or relatives of university employees or alumni.
To submit a listing, please send the necessary information in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please limit jpeg image sizes to 1 MB or less per image.
