Update on Paid Administrative Leave and Mandatory Employee Compensatory Time

4/29/20; 4:25PM

Based on UNC System Office guidance released today, the following pay and leave provisions will remain in place through May 8, 2020:

  1. Paid administrative leave will continue for permanent employees, student employees and non-student temporary employees.
  2. Mandatory employees will continue to receive 1/2 hour of compensatory time for each hour required to work on campus.

For May 1 through May 8, both of these provisions will follow the same eligibility criteria in place for April.

The extension of these pay and leave provisions through May 8 aligns to the date to which Governor Cooper has extended his statewide Stay-at-Home Order.  Guidance for the period following May 8 will be communicated as soon as possible and may be based on the status of the Order at that time.

The System Office Guidance also describes paid leave available to eligible employees under the new Federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), effective May 1.  Please watch for specific guidance from the Office of Human Resources related to this program, including additional information on eligibility and instructions for how to apply.

Thank you.
