Updated UNC System Return-to-Work Safety Guidance 9/1/20

The UNC System Office recently issued an updated version of its COVID-19 Return to On-Site Work Guidance for Faculty and Staff.  The updated guidance incorporates recent technical guidance from the North Carolina Department of Labor, as well as updated guidance for Institutions of Higher Education issued by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

 

Key updates in the guidance include:

 

  • Additional details on social/physical distancing, including recommendations to limit sustained exposure of 15 minutes or more.
  • Updates on storing and re-using face coverings if not visibly soiled, torn, or damaged.
  • Information on sharing university vehicles and recommendations in the event that sharing is necessary.
  • Revised guidance on elevator use, limiting usage to one passenger to the extent practicable.
  • Recommendations to limit non-essential visitors, volunteers, and activities involving external groups.
