Introduction

Crest Academy is the first level of the Summit Series leadership development program, designed for emerging or new leaders. This cohort-based program takes three months to complete and is offered two times during the year. The program includes in-person workshops, networking options, virtual learning, and independent time for on-the-job application, promoting skill development.

Purpose of this Program

The purpose of this training is to empower new and emerging leaders by developing key leadership skills. Participants will gain practical knowledge to enhance their emotional intelligence, communication, conflict management, trust-building, decision-making, and accountability, ensuring they are well-prepared for success in their leadership roles

Learning Objectives 

After completing this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Collaborate on projects to strengthen team dynamics and drive performance outcomes.
  2. Apply decision-making frameworks to analyze complex situations and make informed, strategic decisions that benefit the department.
  3. Demonstrate communication techniques to improve interpersonal interactions and ensure clear, impactful communication in professional settings.
  4. Foster a respectful and motivated team environment by building trust and promoting accountability.

Structure

This blended learning experience consists of a mix of in-person, online, and independent learning activities. Each month, participants can expect the time commitments and structure below:

  • Week 1: In-person workshops (4 hours per week)
  • Week 2: Online eLessons and discussion board reflection (1 hour per week)
  • Week 3: Networking through Campus Connections and Coffee Chats (2 hours per week)
  • Week 4: Independent project work and reflection journal (1 hour per week)

Month 1: Leading Self - Learn about yourself through self-discovery and emotional intelligence.

Month 2: Leading Others - Learn how to empower your team with clear communication, decisive action and collaboration.

Month 3: Leading the Organization - Learn to lead the organization through accountability and strategic decision making.
